Make your own homemade Carpet stain cleaner (3 simple recipes)

These three carpet cleaning recipes will work against any spill under the sun.

For oily messes, as well as tea, mustard, and colas. Mix together one tablespoon of mild detergent, one-third cup of white vinegar, and two thirds cup of water.

For starchy or sugary spills, like blood, eggs, milk, and chocolate. Mix one cup of water, two tablespoons of ammonia, and one tablespoon of mild detergent.

If you don't know what the stain is, then try the following; One-quarter teaspoon of dishwashing soap in one cup of warm water.

Whatever the stain is, always scrape off and blot the excess before applying the carpet cleaner. Then gently blot the stain with a clean towel dipped in the solution. Finish by laying several paper towels on top of the wet spot, weighing them down with something heavy, and leaving them there until the carpet dries.

Now that your carpet looks beautiful and fluffy. If you want to keep it that way, vacuum it at least twice a week. Always wipe up spills immediately, and get it deep cleaned every 12 to 18 months.
