Make your own homemade Cradle Cap Remedy

To soothe a baby’s irritated scalp, gently work this rinse into the head with a flannel after a shampoo.

To make 4 rinses

  • 2oz/60g dried comfrey leaves or root, cut up
  • 1 1/4 pints/1 litre water

Place the comfrey and water in a medium sized saucepan. Cover, bring to the boil, and simmer for 20 minutes. Strain and discard the comfrey root. Let the remaining liquid cool. It will keep for 4 days in the refrigerator.

To use, warm the solution to skin temperature, apply, and then let it dry naturally on the baby’s scalp. Repeat the process nightly until the irritated area clears up.

Caution If the condition does not change within 7 days, consult your doctor.
