Make your own homemade Gum arabic adhesive

Use this recipe to make your own gum arabic adhesive that is great to mend broken crockery.

To make 3½ floz/100ml

  • 3 tablespoons gum arabic
  • 1 tablespoon glycerin
  • ½ teaspoon water

In a small mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the ingredients. Apply a thin coating to each surface of your broken crockery with a matchstick, fit the pieces together, and clamp firmly in place until the glue dries — about 1 hour. Leave for at least 24 hours before washing or using the piece.
