Make your own homemade Snow and ice dissolver

This mixture is very effective on windscreens, icy paths, pavements and garden steps.

To make 4 lb/1.8kg

• 2 lb/900g rock salt
• 21b/900g magnesium sulphate
• 2 tablespoons ammonium sulphate

Mix all the ingredients in a large bucket. To use, sprinkle as required on steps, paths and pavements, or water down some of the mixture, transfer to a spray bottle and use on your car windscreen. Store in a tightly covered canister or jar out of the reach of children.
